The Opportunity

Pier 1 wanted to position itself as a buzzy brand on the cutting edge of culture, design, art, & food while testing the waters with influencer marketing, for the first time since the brand’s conception. Taking a well-known brand & casting it in a new & exciting light was an interesting challenge--but CultureHype was up for the task. 

The Development

Our team identified an array of influencers we know would capture & convey the distinctive vision of Pier 1 while pushing the envelope a bit. As as part of a new local campaign focused on authenticity called This Is DFW, CultureHype wanted to take people into the lives of creatives, & showcase how they live, work, & create. Artist Matthew Brinston, Chef Jenna Kinnard, fashion maven & male beauty vlogger Christian Craven, & many more were all a part of this comprehensive campaign. But influencer marketing was only the beginning. 

CultureHype also sponsored a co-branded exclusive event at Pier 1’s Galleria store catered by a local chef collaborative on-the-rise, the Nameless Chefs, & featuring beats by DJ Ronnie Heart. By engaging Dallas tastemakers with local music, local food & local influencers, our team aligned Pier 1 with buzzworthy creators in Dallas--the creators who make the city vibrant. The one-night event resulted in over 450,000 impressions across influencer social media platforms, increasing the brand’s awareness online. 

The Results

CultureHype’s hands-on, holistic approach included everything from event conception & execution to influencer marketing, blogging, photography & videography, & social media promotion. The This Is DFW campaign culminated with a five-store event with each influencer hosting a unique, authentic in-store event across five key Dallas-Fort Worth stores with live social media posting, live art creation, & more.
